When I was a child still parsing the digital image (mostly of anime girls) I had come to believe that the heavily artifacted quality of a JPG file was in fact what made it art. Because it was artifacted into a mess of incomprehensible pixels it therefore could not be easily edited in paint, thus rendering the artifacted anime girl JPG file into true art. So what I would do with my stupid little bitmap drawings, to emulate the greats, I would save my humble MS paint BMP images into JPGs, then save them again and again until those beautiful little variant pixels began to occur between line and color, officially giving the work its seal of authenticity.
