Ever hear of St Sarkis? Apparently this Armennian saint might be gay. WOW The idea that early Christianity may have been tolerant towards women and same sex unions is very interesting. There is a very real possibility that the demonic entity which made Christiannity more restrictive and inherantly beneficial to the status quo might be Constantine. What if Constantine were Satan, and his influence was the oppressive Roman Empire which kill Jesus. Who knows? All I'm saying is that Jesus came to me in a dream and said Constantine was evil. There are a lot of Constantines in Roman history, and I could just be assuming that he means the first one. I'm not certain that Jesus can be trusted. He's biased, and Christianity being changed by the influence of a single person is not very believable. The idea that the ruling class benefited from a more restrictve Christianity is more believable, but that doesn't mean its true. Constantine being evil is certainly kewl. What does it mean to be kewl? Well, that just means you are cool.

We have long lain dormant, and the time to awaken has come. After our long sleep, we are filled with great hunger. Soon, now, we shall feed... These lands shall be defiled, and our brood shall overrun the fields that men call home. Our tendrils shall envelop this world, and we will feast on the flesh of its denizens. Man shall become our chattel and sustenance.

MAP OF GREATER DARK

Greater Dark is the term for the local void which surrounds earth and the stars nearby to it. There is no visible nebula in the Greater Dark, which makes it unusual. The rest of the galaxy regards the Greater Dark as a dangerous and depraved wasteland best avoided by anyone with a sense of self preservation, although the barbaric humans living in the Greater Dark are not aware of the gallactic community which swirls around them.

The map might require some explanation. Ahem. Space is mostly empty space, and so a political map representing the real situation would be a series of dots colored to match a particular faction. This would not give a good understanding of the world. So it is best to think of the Greater Dark as a bar graph. Imagine a quarter is placed on one of the location names in the bar (such as the pirate fleet). Once the quarter is in one bar, you can move the quarter to any planet name in the bar to the left or right. This is because travellers from other systems usually arrive from the bottom of the solar system - NOT the sides of its orbit.

||THE SOLAR EMPIRE

||Lawless and nonexistant in some areas, the state nontheless, remains hegemon over the various pirate gangs. Victorious in the civil war, the state subsequently was too weak to defeat the Trokk. Years of humiliation and unpopularity have left Emperor Boris without much legitimacy. His cousin Prince Peter has become quite the popular figure at court. Rumors of civil war swirl around the irradiated sand dunes of Earth. The high admiral of the outer fleet may be Peter's brother, but he is also Boris's son. The question of his loyalty has not yet been answered.

||PIRATES AND OUTLAWS

||Fortune seekers and rebels perpetrate atrocities on unsuspecting merchants and immigrants. In the past there were three main factions of pirates - the Anarchists were rebels seeking to liberate robots from slavery. The Talons were a criminal gang of roboticist merchants and raiders. The Saints were a quasi-religious cult. The anarchists were viewed as more of a threat to the established order and so the Solar Empire's anti piracy efforts have more or less eliminated them as a faction. Only a few disunited remnants remain. They are dead as a political movement, like anything else that tries to make life better in the Greater Dark.
