What's your favorite scary movie? : Responses from the guild members

" Hard for me to pick here but I think I will go with John Carpenter's The Thing.
It's both grotesque and stunning with its practical effects. I am sensitive to body horror so seeing a lot of transformations happen on screen freaks me out, because you can't escape the body you live in.

I also love the character dynamics within it too. Everyone's paranoia builds and it gets difficult to watch the crewmates turn on each other.

Also the atmosphere and music compliments the movie well too."

"Hello! I'm a big fan of the saw series! I've only watched up to the 3rd movie and plan on jumping around the future entries. I think the first 3 movies are neat, but honestly the 4th one was kinda boring, and I felt like it overcompensated with the gore. Hence me wanting to jump around.

For starters, I just really like aesthetic and vibe of it. It's all green, gritty, grimy... There's some nice transition shots in there and some like fast-paced flashing scenes which I find cool.. The acting is also fantastic! I love Shawnee Smith in this series!

I find it way scarier with it being more grounded in reality than other horror movies that has supernatural stuff in them. I had a habit of watching true crime when I was younger and it really reminds me of the series at times."
